Marina Bay Sands, in collaboration with Shaw Organization and Mei Ah Entertainment, debut Wong Kar-wai’s highly-anticipated film "The Grandmaster" at the Grand Theatre on 23 January. The Gala will give opportunity to the fans to get the rare opportunity to get a glimpse of their favorite stars as they walk the red carpet on 23 January in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
Wong Kar-wai‟s “The Grandmaster” is a Hong Kong-Chinese action drama film based on the life story of the Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man. The film stars Hong Kong superstar, Tony Leung, and Chinese film actress and model, Zhang Ziyi.

Famed Hong Kong actor Tony Leung has won nine Hong Kong Film Awards and the Cannes Film Festival Best Actor award for his role in Wong Kar-wai's 2000 film “In the Mood for Love”. He will be playing the role of “Ip Man” in “The Grandmaster”.
“The Grandmaster” has been widely acclaimed by critics and well-known artistes in the film industry. It was also a big success at the Hong Kong box office, raking in US$2million in 4 days,and US$28million in 7 days at the China box office. “The Grandmaster” sneak previews begin in Singapore 25 January in all theatres and opens on 31 January.
