Although he did not give in to her request, Cao stressed that if a DNA test proves that he is the father of the 19-month-old girl, he would not shy away from responsibility, he told the Shin Min Daily News.
Update - Miss Shi Si Mei missed the DNA paternity test appointment scheduled for Saturday morning and has been uncontactable since, according to Terence Cao [4]. The actor said if the child is his, he will be happy to take the full responsibility to maintain the child until she turned 21. But first of all, he needs a DNA test, which is not done by Miss Shi. Cao and his lawyer have been trying to reach her on her Singapore and China numbers, but to no avail.[5]
The MediaCorp actor was reported as saying that Ms Shi was uncomfortable that the DNA test appointments were handled by his lawyer.
A 26-year-old Chinese woman from Shanghai, named Shi Si Mei, claimed that she had a baby with MediaCorp actor Terence Cao (Cao Guohui) after having a one night stand with him in Shanghai in 2010. And according to Lianhe Zaobao the local celebrity took the woman and her baby daughter to a lawyer yesterday morning to arrange for a DNA test for the child.
Shi Si Mei said she has met Terence Cao in May 2010 at a party in Shanghai. She claimed that she had sex with him on the same night and a month later, she was invited by Cao to Singapore where she lived at his place for two weeks. She has realized that she was pregnant in July back in Shanghai but according to her, Cao asked her to go for an abortion. The baby girl was born in March 2011.
Terence Cao, who is 45-year-old, said he was not yet ready to speak and asked for more time according to the media. He then turned to the 26-year-old woman, asking: "You happy now?"[1][2]
Shi Si Mei will return to Shanghai for a month and then come back to Singapore for the results of the DNA test. She has claimed that if proven that the girl is his, Terence Cao is willing to take responsibility. Cao had previously denied fathering a child.[3]
