UFC Fight Night Singapore: Ellenberger versus Saffiedine

The Ultimate Fighting Championship debuts in Singapore at the Marina Bay Sands on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 with UFC FIGHT NIGHT SINGAPORE: ELLENBERGER vs. SAFFIEDINE. Tickets will go on sale today on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 10 a.m.

The main card will feature a five-round welterweight bout between two world-class fighters–Jake "The
Juggernaut" Ellenberger and former Strikeforce champion Tarec "Sponge" Saffiedine. Ellenberger is #4 in
the division, while Belgium-born Saffiedine, is set for his UFC debut in Singapore after posting four straight
wins in Strikeforce  to become welterweight champion before the promotion was closed.

The first ever UFC event in Southeast Asia will also showcase the UFC debut performance of long-time
Japanese star fighter Tatsuya Kawajiri, riding a five-fight victorious streak, going up against Brazil’s Hacran
Dias at featherweight along with a pair of clashes between up-and-coming Japanese and South Koreans: Kiichi Kunimoto vs. Hyun Gyu Lim in a welterweight bout, and Shunichi Shimizu vs. Kyung Ho Kang at bantamweight. Rounding up the card is another UFC debutante Katsunori Kikuno of Japan - also on a five - fight winning streak - taking on Quinn Mulhern at lightweight, and other talented MMA fighters from across the continent. More bouts are to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Jetstar Asia launch Straight To Gate service

Why queue ... if you don't have to? This was the advertisement on billboards in Singapore past week from budget carrier Jetstar. If you are curious to know what this is all about, Jetstar today has announced this new service which allows some passengers to by-pass check-in queue.

Jetstar Asia became the first Low Cost Carrier in Singapore launch Straight To Gate, an innovative service designed to save time for passengers departing from Singapore. From today, the service will go on trial, and new destinations will be introduced every week. This week, passengers flying from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Phuket, Hong Kong and Yangon will be able bypass the check-in counters and head directly to immigration and departure gate, using just the self-printed boarding pass.

Straight to Gate allows passengers travelling on selected Jetstar Asia (3K/VF) flights to check-in online via Jetstar website, jetstar.com, from the comfort of the home or office and proceed to the boarding gate on arrival at the airport. This is available for passengers travelling with carry on baggage only and without visa or other entry requirements. You can choose your own seat and simply download and print your Straight to Gate boarding pass and proceed directly to customs for a faster experience through the airport.

All you need to do is to simply check-in online between 48 hours and 2 hours before flight departure, select your seat and print the boarding pass. If you are travelling with just hand carry baggage only, and have no visa or entry requirements, you will be eligible for using the Straight to Gate service. Please read the instructions provided during the web check-in process and the boarding document carefully. This service is for passengers departing Singapore Changi Airport only.

Flights to Hangzhou China by Qatar Airways

Fast growing global airline Qatar Airways is adding flights to Hangzhou in its network  on 20 December 2013. The non-stop flight from Doha to Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province, will be four-times-weekly and served by Airbus A330 aircraft. The aircraft will feature 260 seats with 24 seats in Business Class and 236 seats in Economy.

Qatar Airways has started to fly China in 2003 with flights to Shanghai and later added flights to Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Chongqing and Chengdu. Hangzhou will be Qatar Airway's 7th destination in China which comes just 2 months after Qatar Airways has launched flights to Chengdu.

Hangzhou, which is the fourth-largest metropolitan area in China, is known for its rich history and picturesque scenery. The city, one of the top tourist sites in China, is also referred to as ‘Paradise on Earth’, ‘Home of Silk’ and ‘Tea Capital’. Highlights for tourists to Hangzhou include:

• West Lake – This fresh water lake has been an attraction for centuries. The enormous land-and-water park, has some 40 scenic and/or historic sites, comprising more than 30 key cultural relics which are distributed around the lake.

Fly-Thru Services in Bangkok Don Muang International Airport by AirAsia

From 1 December 2013, a brand new Fly-Thru service will allow AirAsia passengers to check their bags through and collect them at their final destination when transiting through Bangkok Don Muang International Airport. Fly-Thru passengers will also be exempt from Don Muang’s airport tax.

Those who book Fly-Thru flights before 17 November 2013 can enjoy a promotional deal of up to 20% off for travel between 1 December 2013 and 29 March 2014.

International passengers who are transiting to a domestic destination in Thailand (Chiang Mai, Phuket or Krabi) will be required to go through an immigration line upon their arrival in Bangkok, which is their first port of entry into the country. Meanwhile, visa requirements for the final destination still apply and airport taxes are still applicable at the origin destination.

Despite her explanation that Chinese talent agent Wang Ziqi was only a friend, actress Sire Ma was recently caught behaving intimately with the wealthy businesswoman.
According to Mingpao website, the 26-year-old actress, who took a two-month vacation to Europe with Wang earlier, was spotted in Shanghai with Wang last week.

The two women set tongues wagging when they were photographed holding hands and smooching frequently at the airport and in the restaurant. They were also caught kissing passionately on the streets, unfazed by the attention from passers-by.
