Cheap flights to Bangkok from Singapore

Bangkok is one of the most popular holiday destination in Asia and since Singapore is quite near to Bangkok (less than 2 hours flight) it is one of the most visited destination from Singapore. The popularity of Bangkok has exploded in the past 10 years thanks to the emergence of budget airlines in 2004. All of the budget carriers offer cheap flights to Bangkok from Singapore multiple times a day and when a new player comes Bangkok is always in the top 3 destinations they start to fly.

Some travelers to Singapore does not quite know or trust budget airlines of the region but they are quite reliable, offering ticket prices half of full service carriers and if you are planning to fly from Singapore to Bangkok or visa versa, you should definitely check these companies for cheapest flight to Bangkok.

All budget airlines serving Singapore, AirAsia, Tigerair, Jetstar Asia and Scoot offers cheap flights to Bangkok:

Best hotel deals Singapore

Since hotel rates in Singapore are expensive it is important to find good Singapore hotel deals. But where to find? Here we have listed some most popular places to find cheap hotel deals and last minute discounts in Singapore.

Of course you can always search for "hotel deals Singapore" keywords in Google and look at each and every result one by one to find a good deal but if wasting your time there are much better ways to find hotels in Singapore.

Agoda.com
Of course the first place you should look is an online reservation site like Agoda.com. We are offering Agoda.com not because we are also affiliated with them. Agoda.com has strong presence in Asia especially in South East Asia and offers unbeatable Singapore hotel deals. This is the reason we affiliate with them. They negotiate quite good prices for the hotels in Singapore and is the first place to look for hotel deals Singapore.

HotelsCombined.com
A better approach to look for Singapore hotel deals is to use a hotel meta-search engine instead of individual reservation sites. These engines aggregates hotel deals from multiple online reservation sites plus sometimes from hotels' web sites so instead of wasting time to look at results one by one you can go to a meta search site like hotelscombined.com.

hotelscombined.com aggregates results from popular hotel sites like Agoda.com, hotel.com, expedia.com and let's you compare the prices. When you click on any price you are directed to that site. So hotelscombined.com is not a place to book a hotel room but to easily compare the hotel prices.

We like hotelscombined.com because it is quite simple to use and extremely time saving.

hotelscombined.com searches hotel deals from multiple reservation sites and let's you
see them together to choose the best deal.
Group buying sites
If you live in a neighbouring country, your local group buying sites' travel deal pages will probably have a few nice Singapore travel packages combined of hotel plus plane ticket.

What is AirAsia Hi-Flyer?

AirAsia Hi-Flyer is a service which offers travelers travel flexibility and several benefits for both AirAsia and AirAsia X. These benefits include 20 kg checked baggage allowance, standard or hot seat selection, express boarding, 2 flight changes up to 2 hours before scheduled departure time of the original flight with no flight change fee (fare difference may apply).

Hi-Flyer service is very good for business travelers who are increasingly using budget airliners in South East Asia destinations. Business travelers make up a significant portion of AirAsia guests' profile and this new product offering will further add value to their travel experience with AirAsia.

I am one of those business travelers and usually the meeting times and days changes with short notice and flexibility of changing flights without charges will be great. With Hi-Flyers if a meeting ends early and I want to change to an earlier flight, I can just turn up at the airport and proceed to a selected Airport Sales Counter at least 3 hours and 4 hours before the schedule time of departure for AirAsia and AirAsia X flight respectively.

AirAsia Hi-Flyer is available on airasia.com, AirAsia Mobile App, AirAsia mobile site and selected airport sales counters & authorised travel agents. Hi-Flyer is available on all AirAsia and AirAsia X flights except South Korea, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Maldives, Philippines and Japan. Hi-Flyer is also available on all FLY-THRU routes but again except South Korea, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Hong Kong, Philippines and Japan.

Travellers who have booked regular promo fares can easily upgrade to 'Hi-Flyer' fares by logging onto airasia.com and modify their flights through the 'Manage My Booking' option.

Singapore Riverside Hotels - River Mouth to Boat Quay

The Singapore River extending almost 3 kilometers from its source at Kim Seng Bridge (river beyond that bridge is Alexandra Canal and the original source is at Kim Seng Bridge) to its mouth at the Esplanade, houses some of the most prime areas in Singapore to entertain, dine and stay. Boat Quay and Clarke Quay are the most famous and visited areas on the riverside in Singapore. But go a little deep to its source, you will find yourself in the most laid-back of the three quays along the Singapore River, Robertson Quay. Although this area is largely a prime residential area for locals and expats, it also offers a very convenient and nice location for a hotel or serviced apartment stay in Singapore.

Robertson Quay area is a nice place to stay while you are in Singapore because it is relatively quite, laid back and upscale but also still in the middle of Singapore's historic city center. It offers many nice dinning options, bars and night clubs (famous Zouk and Mohamed Sultan Road are nearby) and a very nice scenery for a night walk. Singapore's Central Business District, Orchard Road, Clarke Quay and Chinatown are a short taxi ride away (you can actually walk to Clarke Quay).

Clarke Quay is very popular among tourists and also offers very nice upscale accommodation options. Although not as laid back as Robertson Quay, the area is a very nice and convenient place to stay in Singapore.

Let's look at the hotels, serviced apartments and hostels on Singapore Riverside. We are going from Singapore River's mouth to origin.

The Fullerton Hotel
5 Star Luxurious
At the mouth of Singapore River, we have one of the most luxurious and well known hotels of Singapore: The Fullerton Hotel. The hotel has a 25 meter outdoor infinity swimming pool, fitness centre and a luxury spa. For business travellers, The Fullerton Hotel provides a 24-hour financial centre with the Bloomberg Professional service that provides financial reports and world news, and 15 meeting rooms equipped with conference facilities.

Boat Quay Area
Upstream from the mouth of the Singapore River on its southern bank, you will find yourself in Boat Quay. Because the south of the river here resembles the belly of a carp and according to Feng Shui this means where wealth and prosperity lay, many shop houses were built here. Now bustling shops, restaurants and bars, this area is one of the most prime location offering budget accomodation.

The area bordered by Singapore River, New Bridge Road, Hong Kong Street and South Bridge Road is a hotel/hostel cluster offering many hostels and several 3 star hotels to stay in a very prime location in Singapore.

Being near to lots of restaurants, bars and Singapore center are other bonuses. 5footway.inn Project Boat Quay is one of the best hostel in Singapore.

Bunc@Radius Clarke Quay
1-Star Hostel

Another clean, comfortable, new and relatively luxurious hostel in this prime central area of Singapore is Bunc@Radius Clarke Quay (formerly known as Bunc@Radius Chinatown Hostel). 18 years old Saaya Suzuki murdered by her stalker

An 18-year-old high school student, Saaya Suzuki, was stabbed to death in Mitaka Tokyo hours after she and her parents has reported to the police that she was being stalked and threatened by her ex- boyfriend. Police have found Saya Suzuki dressed in her school uniform lying in front of her home around 5 p.m. Neighbors heard Suzuki scream and found her in her school uniform, bleeding from stab wounds to her neck and stomach. She was taken to hospital where she died a short time later due to loss of blood, police said. Saya Suzuki's ex-boyfriend 21 years old Charles Thomas Ikenaga, 21 has admitted to stabbing Suzuki with a knife. Ikenaga and Suzuki have broken up six months ago. Japanese police apprehended him on a street in Mitaka about 600 meters away from the site. They said he was wearing bloodstained pants.

According to the high school, Saaya Suzuki told the teacher that she was frightened because a male acquaintance has appeared around her home, and he had sent e-mails saying he would kill her or take revenge on her. When Suzuki complained about Ikenaga on Oct. 7, the school’s deputy principal recommended that she report it to the police.

Saaya Suzuki had belonged to an entertainment business company in Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo, until August this year. According to the company, she wanted to be an actress and belonged to the company since she was a fifth-grade primary school student and appeared in some movies and TV dramas. She was fluent in English and experienced a home stay overseas.

Japan’s anti-stalking law, which was enacted in 2000, has been revised and passed in June to respond to recent high-profile murder cases involving stalkers. The revised and improved law took effect on Thursday and among the revisions, the law now requires the police to explain to a complainant in writing if they choose not to issue a warning to a reported stalker. Also, the law now requires the police to notify a victim if and when a warning to a reported stalker has been issued.

The issue of stalking was brought into the spotlight in 2012 when police were criticized for their failure to protect victims who had reported being harassed. In November 2012, a woman living in Kanagawa Prefecture was stabbed to death by an ex-boyfriend even though she had reported to the police that he had sent more than 1,000 emails to her cellphone in a two-week period. Reports had found out that the killer learned of her new name and address, ironically and tragically, from the police.

In May 2013 a 24-year-old woman in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture was stabbed by a man who had been stalking her, even as the woman had already reported the said stalker to the police and that officers were near the victim’s house when the attack happened.

Koki Tanaka Scandal Photos
A few weeks ago scandalous pictures of KAT-TUN‘s Tanaka Koki have started spreading in the net showing his genitals in detail. Tanaka's tattoos as well as h's pearl 'mplant on his penis were displayed in the photos. These photos were expected to affect the “clean image” projected from his group, KAT-TUN. Johnny's have not mentioned any exact reason for the termination. But many speculate that opening a bar with his brother as well as these scandal photos were the reasons.
