Singapore Food Festival 2012

Singapore Food Festival 2012, the 19th edition of Singapore Food Festival, has started yesterday. The 10 days festival is, not surprisingly, one of the key attractions on the Singapore's event calendar. This year, event's focus will be the Seafood of Singapore. Singapore's sea food dishes such as black pepper crab, sambal stingray, salt pepper lobster, BBQ sotong, ginger-and-spring onion lala, otak-otak, creamy butter crab, fish head curry, rojak with prawn paste and chilli crab will wait for seafood lovers and if you take Singapore's obsession with the food, the venue will probably be quite crowded, especially in the weekend.

Singapore Food Festival Village this year has a new venue at Waterfront Promenade @ Marina Bay  (previously it was on Read Bridge, Clarke Quay) 50 stalls featuring local and international seafood favourites. The event also features Singapore Food Festival Seafood Platter this year. For $36.90+, you will be able to enjoy a platter consists of their famous Chilli Crab / Signature Creamy Butter Crab, Stir-fried Live Geoduck with Asparagus in XO Sauce, Crisp-fried Prawns tossed with Salted Egg Yolk, Deep-fried Coral Trout in Nyonya Style and Supreme Seafood Fried Rice.

My favorite attraction of Singapore Seafood Festival has always cooking demonstration. This year chefs from various established restaurants and culinary schools will demonstrate seafood related dishes on the opening weekend of the SFF Village! You can see the culinary demonstration schedule here
