Qatar Airways links over 100 international destinations across Africa, Central Asia, Europe, Far East, South Asia, Middle East, North America, South America and Oceania from its base in Doha, using a fleet of more than 100 aircraft. By 30 October 2013, the airline will become a full member of the oneworld alliance. This means that members of the established oneworld airlines’ frequent flyer programs will be able to earn and redeem awards and tier status points and receive all other oneworld benefits, including lounge access, on Qatar Airways.
Qatar Airways will be the 13th full member of the oneworld, joining airlines from each global region – airberlin, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LAN Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Royal Jordanian, S7 Airlines and some 30 affiliated airlines.
One of the destinations of Qatar Airways in South East Asia is Singapore. It operates non-stop (8 hours) flights from Singapore to Doha and eventually to many global destinations. Qatar Airways offers many attractive flight deals from Singapore and I observe many of my friends are using the airline to fly to destinations in Europe and Middle East. Although you need to change planes in Doha, the flights are usually cheaper compared to direct flights to same destinations.
