Singapore Riverside Hotels - River Mouth to Boat Quay

The Singapore River extending almost 3 kilometers from its source at Kim Seng Bridge (river beyond that bridge is Alexandra Canal and the original source is at Kim Seng Bridge) to its mouth at the Esplanade, houses some of the most prime areas in Singapore to entertain, dine and stay. Boat Quay and Clarke Quay are the most famous and visited areas on the riverside in Singapore. But go a little deep to its source, you will find yourself in the most laid-back of the three quays along the Singapore River, Robertson Quay. Although this area is largely a prime residential area for locals and expats, it also offers a very convenient and nice location for a hotel or serviced apartment stay in Singapore.

Robertson Quay area is a nice place to stay while you are in Singapore because it is relatively quite, laid back and upscale but also still in the middle of Singapore's historic city center. It offers many nice dinning options, bars and night clubs (famous Zouk and Mohamed Sultan Road are nearby) and a very nice scenery for a night walk. Singapore's Central Business District, Orchard Road, Clarke Quay and Chinatown are a short taxi ride away (you can actually walk to Clarke Quay).

Clarke Quay is very popular among tourists and also offers very nice upscale accommodation options. Although not as laid back as Robertson Quay, the area is a very nice and convenient place to stay in Singapore.

Let's look at the hotels, serviced apartments and hostels on Singapore Riverside. We are going from Singapore River's mouth to origin.

The Fullerton Hotel

At the mouth of Singapore River, we have one of the most luxurious and well known hotels of Singapore: The Fullerton Hotel. The hotel has a 25 meter outdoor infinity swimming pool, fitness centre and a luxury spa. For business travellers, The Fullerton Hotel provides a 24-hour financial centre with the Bloomberg Professional service that provides financial reports and world news, and 15 meeting rooms equipped with conference facilities.

Boat Quay Area
Upstream from the mouth of the Singapore River on its southern bank, you will find yourself in Boat Quay. Because the south of the river here resembles the belly of a carp and according to Feng Shui this means where wealth and prosperity lay, many shop houses were built here. Now bustling shops, restaurants and bars, this area is one of the most prime location offering budget accomodation.

The area bordered by Singapore River, New Bridge Road, Hong Kong Street and South Bridge Road is a hotel/hostel cluster offering many hostels and several 3 star hotels to stay in a very prime location in Singapore.
