From 28 October, Jetstar will fly 70,000 additional seats per month from Singapore to Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Thailand (Bangkok, Phuket) and Myanmar (Yangon) to its monthly schedule. This will be available with the arrival of the 17th A320 aircraft to the Jetstar Asia business. This capacity increase will double Singapore and Kuala Lumpur services. Jetstar will operate up to 61 weekly return services between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur in the new schedule providing customers with more timely connections on popular services through Singapore to Manila, Perth and Taipei.[1]
According to the announcement in Jetstar's web page, Jetstar Asia CEO Bara Pasupathi said the new capacity was focussed on existing routes and creating better access to some of the most popular destinations in the region.
Jetstar, which flies to 60 destinations across 17 countries, is the fastest growing low-fares airline group in the Asia Pacific region. Jetstar Asia’s latest capacity increase follows capacity growth of 38 per cent last financial year.

“We are seeing an increasing number of our Malaysian customers onto low fare Jetstar Group services to destinations like Melbourne and Auckland,” he said. “Adding an extra 36 weekly services from Kuala Lumpur into our hub in Singapore allows us to offer travellers more options for hassle free connections.”Jetstar currently has 4 times a week services directly between Singapore and Yangon and plans to increase the frequency to daily services by December 2012. Jetstar is currently the only low fares airline flying directly from Singapore to Myanmar. On the popular routes like Singapore - Phuket and Singapore - Bangkok, services are planned to be increased to 44 weekly return services to Thailand.
