Tiger Airways is moving to Terminal 2 adding Hyderabad and Phnom Penh to its destinations

I traveled to Ho Chi Minh City from Singapore yesterday for a short business meeting. Me and boss took a Jetstar flight in the Ho Chi Minh City. I took Tiger Airways from Vietnam to Singapore. Both of these are budget airlines. Taking a budget airline for business trip is getting more common since it significantly reduces the cost of travel. I used to fly by full service carriers such as Singapore Airlines and Malaysian Airlines from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta or Ho Chi Minh City but this downgrade was acceptable since these are not very long flights. Economic situation is getting worse by every passing year in Asia and since West will quantitative ease forever (or until they burn the house) there is no reason to expect it to get better. I prefer to be paid in the future then to fly on a full service carrier now.

Anyway, there are some news on Tiger Airways front. Tiger will move to its new den from Singapore Budget Terminal to Changi Airport Terminal 2 in the early hours of Tuesday 25 September 2012. This is because the Changi Budget Terminal will be demolished to be redeveloped into Changi Terminal 4 building. So Tiger Airways is not the only one moving out. All airlines currently operating in the Budget Terminal,  Berjaya Air, Cebu Pacific, Firefly, South East Asian Airlines and Tiger Airways, will move their operations to Terminal 2 and will start operations there from 0600 hours on 25 September 2012.
