Shangri-La Hotel Singapore Christmas 2013


Shangri-La Hotel Singapore celebrates the Christmas season with a list of traditional festive favorites and novel goodies, such as new log cake flavors, delightful chocolates as well as premium hampers and classic roasts, available from 29 November to 25 December 2013. This year’s festive store takes the shape of a Gingerbread House, which is made from real gingerbread tiles handcrafted by the pastry chefs.  Every day, a child will win a prize by opening the Advent Calendar at the Gingerbread House.

Play host to a merry feast with treats by Area Executive Pastry Chef Hervé Potus and his team of expert patisseries.  Four new varieties of the Bûche de Noëls, famous French yule log cakes, offer a refreshing twist with fruity flavours.  Guests can look forward to Caramel, Earl Grey with Blackberry, Vanilla, Strawberry with Lime and Carrot Cake, Yuzu Crème Brûlée with Mascarpone and Hazelnut Nougatine with Chestnut Cream.  Each log cake weighs one kilogramme and is priced at S$55 each.  Guests who prefer traditional cakes can purchase Grandma 66 Per Cent and Vintage 72 Per Cent yule log cakes starting from S$50.

Aside from Other than yule log cakes, indulge in three new attractive Christmas cake creations – Santa Stocking, Gifted Elf and Penguin Meets Snowman.  Prices start from S$68 each.  For those with nostalgic cravings, the traditional Pecan Nut Pie and English Fruit Cake with Drunken Fruits are available at S$40 and S$55, respectively.

Savour classic European favourites, such as Authentic German Marzipan Stollen, Homemade Traditional Italian Panettone and Pain D’Epice with Orange Perfume.  Prices range from S$18 to S$28.  Chocolate lovers can also indulge in a line up of cocoa treasures.  The latest additions are Chocolate Elk and Chocolate Penguin, priced at S$24 per 130-gram piece.  Relish the new eight-piece Santa Claus with Truffles set at S$30.  Other handcrafted chocolates include the Chocolate Puzzle, Polar Bear and Chocolate Santa Claus, in 80-gram and 130-gram versions.

Five premium hampers make ideal gifts for family and business partners.  Prices start at S$98 for the Christmas Classic Hamper, featuring a bottle of Festive Wine, Chocolate Santa Claus, marzipan stollen, assorted Christmas cookies, chocolate truffles and an English fruit cake.  The Dreams and Wishes Hamper, priced at S$388, showcases a bottle of Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial Rosé, marron glacé, Valrhona chocolate pralines, crunchy nougat bar, English fruit cake, marzipan Stollen, Christmas pudding, assorted Christmas cookies, Chocolate Santa Claus, Pain D’epice with Orange Perfume and Shangri-La Tea.

The traditional advent calendar returns for a second year.  Each day, one lucky child staying at the hotel will be given the opportunity to open one of 24 windows leading up to Christmas Day.  The windows are part of the Gingerbread House that will be erected in the Tower Wing’s main lobby during the Christmas season.

On Christmas Eve, guests can gather for a hearty buffet at The Line.  The Christmas Eve buffet lunch starts at S$55 per adult and S$26 per child aged 6 to 11 years old.

Indulge in free-flowing house pour wine, draft beer, soft drinks, chilled juices, coffee and tea at S$75 per adult.  The festive buffet dinner starts at S$154 per adult and S$77 per child between 6 and 11 years old.  Add $40 for free-flow of champagne, house pour wine, draft beer, soft drinks, chilled juices, coffee and tea.

Celebrate Christmas Day with a decadent buffet brunch at S$208 per adult and S$82 per child aged 6 to 11 years old.  The Christmas Day buffet lunch includes free-flowing champagne, house pour wine, draft beer, soft drinks, chilled juices, coffee and tea.  A Santa Claus mascot will distribute mystery gifts to child guests during the brunch session.

Complete the festive season with the Christmas Day buffet dinner priced at S$138 per adult and S$49 per child aged 6 to 11 years old.  The price includes free-flowing champagne, house pour wine, draft beer, soft drinks, chilled juices, coffee and tea.
